Product Description

Preface
To make sure that you can operate this equipment correctly, please read this manual carefully first.
Caution
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not perform any servicing other than that contained in the installation and troubleshooting instructions.
This product contains PIN diode, an electrostatic sensitive device. You should abide by precautions on electrostatic sensitive devices in handle and operation. If not, perpetual degrade can be encountered.
Turn off power supply and clean terminal surface of SC/APC connector by cotton-dipped alcohol, if it is contaminated.
Avoid shock of pulse from power supplies, and don't turn on or turn off the equipment frequently, if not, operating life of receiver will be much reduced.
To avoid damage caused by thunder stroke or accident, the case of optical receiver must be well grounded.
After finish filed installation, please tighten the four bolts in the housing, and make sure to curve the cable at moderate radius for water sinking.

Chapter1 Introduction
This receiver performs light wave-to-RF signal conversions in CATV transmission network. It is a high performance, six/four outputs node, designed o support the high quality video (digital and analog) and data services over advanced hybrid fiber/coax (HFC) networks. Equipped with reverse transmitter, it can provide tow-way communication.

Features
Use high reliability and wide range (35-70Vac/160-250Vac) switch power supply;
47 through 860MHz forward bandwidth, 5 through 30MHz return standard (other splits are available: 42/58MHz, 65/87MHz);
Four or six outputs;
Status indicating by six LEDs;
Input power range: -6~+3dBm, recommended value: -2dBm.

Bench setup
Before you install this receiver it must be setup to meet the power and configuration requirements for the node location. Bench set-up and quick check procedures are recommended to ensure proper functioning of all components and simplify field installation.

Powering the Node
220V receiver: Plug power wire into the socket after the case is well grounded.
60V receiver: This kind receiver can be conveniently powered by applying 60Vac to housing port. You can choose output 1 ~ output 6 as AC powering port.
After power supply is correctly powered, LED will be lighted.
Quick checks-Functional Testing
Performing the procedures presented in the following subsections is recommended before placing this receiver in service.

Forward Path Receiver
1. Confirm that your configuration is for forward path receiver.
2. Test the power input level using an optical power meter. It should be in the range of -6~+3dBm, recommended value is -2dBm. Verify that the relative LED indicates the right status.
3. For 0dBm input, tap output: The receiver output (output1) is above: 106dBuV (For L type), output2 is 12dB less than output1, output 3 is 4dB less, output4 is 16dB less, output5 is 6dB less, ouput6 is 10dB less.
For 0dBm input, splitter output: The receiver output (output1) is above: 102dBuV (For L type), output2 is the same as output1, output 3 is 4dB less, output4 is 4dB less, output5 is 6dB less, ouput6 is 10dB less.

Installation
Installation consists of splicing the service fiber cable to the transportation fiber, installing the housing and electronics on the messenger strand, applying power, and placing the unit in service.
It is recommended that the equipment has been correctly configured, and tested on the bench.

Splicing Fiber
The service cable can be spliced to the transportation cable at any time during the node installation. Splicing does not need to coincide with the installation of the housing.
Fusion splicing is recommended because it has low insertion loss and is the most reliable method. The splicing should be done by a technician experienced in splicing fiber.
